Liberty Lovers, nobody likes hypocrisy.
People love to point out what someone else is doing wrong and ignore the fact that often, they can be accused of the very same behavior.
And most of all, people love to denounce those they disagree with as “hypocrites.”
My own personal philosophy is that we are all hypocrites.
What I mean by that is, nobody’s beliefs are ever perfectly consistent with their actions.
So while I take cries of “hypocrisy” with a grain of salt, I do enjoy pointing out ironies.
Like when a Democrat in Congress who gleefully attacks the President and his people for supposedly seeking out information from Russia is found to have done the very same thing himself.
And when that same Democrat tweets about how horrible it is to take information from the Russians when he instructed his people to pursue . . .
. . .yep, you guessed it. Information from the Russians.
Adam Schiff tweeted this on Sunday after Rudy Guiliani said there was “nothing wrong” with taking information from Russians, although Guiliani wouldn’t have advised it:
I said it before and I’ll say it again:
It’s not ok to seek Russian help in your campaign.
It’s not ok to use materials they stole from your opponent, or to make it part of your campaign strategy.
Sadly, my GOP colleagues do think that’s ok.
The American people know better. https://t.co/LEraCbgm5V
— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) April 21, 2019
But The Daily Caller found out that Schiff did that very thing, or tried to, in 2017.
Two Russian comedians, known as Vocan and Lexus, placed a prank call to Schiff pretending to be Andriy Parubiy, the chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament. They claimed to have recordings proving that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an effort to force Trump to relax sanctions, was blackmailing the president with photographs of him and a model named Olga Buzova.
Schiff responded by asking, “What’s the nature of the kompromat?”
After being told that there were naked photos of Trump and the Russian model, Schiff instructed members of his staff to follow up — which they did, attempting to set up a meeting with Parubiy in order to move forward.
Schiff aide Rheanne Wirkkala emailed Vocan and Lexus to follow up:
“I understand Mr. Schiff had a productive call with Mr. Parubiy, and that Mr. Parubiy would like to make some material available to Mr. Schiff through your embassy.”
When Schiff found out that it was all fake, he claimed he knew it was a hoax all along.
He wasn’t able to answer the question of why his office followed up if they knew it was fake.
Liberty Lovers, the irony is delicious.
And even people who don’t follow politics all that much can see it.
I think they can see it more and more.
The irony of pointing fingers when you yourself are guilty has been a major factor in overcoming pervasive media bias.
The media can spin all they want, but enough of us are smart enough to see through it.
The press has overplayed its hand for at least a decade, and the ongoing backlash was a big factor in President Trump’s election.
Do you think that Democrats and the media–but I repeat myself–are learning from their past mistakes and will moderate their extreme Left bias? Hit reply and share your opinion.
